Alessia Cara
In the year 2015, at age 19, she published her first debut single, Here. The track received praise from music critics and listeners. It reached the top spot at 19th in both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the hit one of the Best Songs of the year. That same year, she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third song Scars to Your Beautiful being one of five original tracks that peaked at Billboard charts including those of the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. In her interview with Rap-Up, many listeners spoke about Cara's self-love journey and her fears. Cara's music is known to include messages of kindness, self-love and mental health. She has been struggling with anxiety and insomnia that have influenced her journey. In an interview with Reuters the singer declared her album to be "half turbulent" and "half flawless". The growth of her career was helped by a therapy. She encourages others, if needed, to seek support. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. She was born on July 11, 1996 to parents of Italian heritage. When she was just 10 years old her parents gave her a guitar which became the foundation of her love for music. 2013 was the year she recorded her favorite songs for YouTube which is a well-known platform for media. This was to demonstrate that she had the ability and the confidence to pursue a career as an artist. One of her tracks, Sweater Weather, was what got her noticed. EP Entertainment gave her an opportunity to develop and record her own tracks.
