In the year 2015, at age 19, she debuted her first single, Here. The track received praise from music critics and listeners. The song peaked at number 19 in both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the track one of the Top Songs in the year 2015. It was the same time that she released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful, one of her original five tracks that was featured on the Billboard Charts including Billboard Hot 100 from Canada and Billboard 200 for the Canadian Albums Charts. All of it is a result of her personal experiences as she struggled with mental health issues and insomnia. She also encourages her fellow singers, if needed, to ask for assistance. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was born on July 11, 1996, to parents of Italian descent. Her parents gifted her with a guitar when she was 10 and this led to her passion for music. Three years later at 13 years old, she began performing her favourite songs via YouTube one of the biggest media platforms to prove to the world she had the talents and determination to develop into an artist. Sweater Weather became her most famous song. A record label, EP Entertainment, noticed her and let her compose songs.
